Well, as the saying goes, whatever starts has to end. So here we are in our last blog, and similarly to what we did in our last blog, today we have to analyze our semester.
This has been a very special semester because we started so late. But I can say this has been a great experience because the students are really motivated and creative. I strongly believe that students motivate the teachers with their attitude and interest in learning. Therefore I feel extremely energized by this experience.
The use of blogs has allowed me to know my students’ personal interests and that helps a lot in creating a friendly and relaxed learning atmosphere and to overcome the anxiety that learning a foreign language produces. Also writing is a way to have an internal monologue and let our imagination fly with its own wings. This fact liberates all your shyness and helps you think in English. Writing is undoubtedly a bridge between your brain and your soul.
Believe it or not, I have been teaching English for many, many years. Maybe since I was born. But I still feel I have to learn a lot! Learning is a never-ending process, and so is teaching.  I practice English every day with all possible sources: music, films, news, etc. because every day I incorporate new word to my vocabulary and I learn new uses for old words.

What about you?  What is your brainstorming?

Whenever a year ends, people like to have a balance of  good and bad things that have happened in their lives. I do not usually do that, but I think it is a great idea. So here we are, trying to brainstorm and become more analytical. The creation of this blog has been a great achievement.
First of all I think it is a good idea to identify the most important areas of our lives: personal life, which may include family, friends, health and professional life, which includes what you learn, what you achieve, where you are and where you want to be.
Although our lives are seeing as a whole, we should prioritize our internal self first.
One of the highlights of the year was that in August, my two sons and their wives (my daughters-in-law) came to and we had a family reunion. And.. the most important point was that they came with my three grandchildren!  But, on the negative side, on some of these moments I had to work and leave them on their own.
In this sense, I am not satisfied with my performance. I think I tried to do too much in 2013, and then I neglected important areas of my life. Therefore, I need to redefine my goals for 2014. Definitely, I will pay more attention to my yoga practice and my meetings with friends.
Obviously, your personal life cannot be separated from your professional life.
Professionally speaking, I think I have achieved my goals for this year. Now I read more and I am more familiar with technology. For this second semester one of the highlights of the year has been the creation of this blog. I have enjoyed reading all your posts.
Now what about you, what is your balance?

My dear students,
I think I have never been in such a predicament: to write about tattoos. But at the same time I enjoy challenges, so here I am writing about tattoos. And since I have done research, I include the websites for you to read and get information.
It is hard to write about the reasons behind tattoos, but in some cases I think it could be to express personal dissatisfaction, or to find a way to look different, or maybe to belong to a certain group.
The word tattoo came into English from the Polynesian  tatau, in  Tahitian, tatu.
When I was a child, there was a general belief that tattoos were used by people who had been in prison, so they had a bad reputation. But when I traveled to Russia, I saw many people who had tattoos, and then I learned that Russians used tattoos as ornament.
Also, I read in Wikipedia that many prisoners in concentration camps were tattooed as a way of identifying them in Nazi concentration camps during the Holocaust.
Anyway, I think that our bodies should be respected and kept as they were given to us by nature. I do not see tattoos as ornament because they will not last forever in our bodies, and when people get old, their skins lose their vitality.
I would not like to have tattoos in my body because I think they can be painful or dangerous in some cases.
What do you think? I will enjoy reading your blogs on this controversial topic.
